Our mission is to produce tactile sensors that mimic the multimodal sensitivity and dynamic range of the human hand but that are economical, robust and field-serviceable for use in realistic environments. We have proven technology that we are integrating into form factors for various applications, including industrial robots, agricultural produce handling and prosthetic hands. Tactile information can be used for closed-loop control of grip strategies, for telerobotic and haptic displays to human operators, and for haptic perception by autonomous robots. |
