The BioTac®

The World's Most Advanced Tactile Sensor

The BioTac® is our flagship product and is a unique tactile sensor capable of acquiring information unavailable from any other commercially available tactile sensors. Purchasing a BioTac includes the assembled sensor (includes skin, fluid, and nail). For integration, service, and support, we provide a variety of additional items. These may be ordered via our kits, or on a per-item basis.

BarrettHand Kit

The Barrett Integration Kit provides the materials required to integrate the BioTac with the popular BarrettHand. It includes all materials to install three BioTacs onto the BarrettHand, and the electronics required to plug into either userlines on a WAM (for compatible models) or to run external lines (for early WAM models).

Shadow Hand Kit

The Shadow Integration Kit provides the materials required to integrate the BioTac with the anthropomorphic Shadow Hand. It includes all materials from SynTouch to be installed onto the Shadow Hand. Please note that this requires custom mechanical and electrical integration performed by the Shadow Robot Company.

SynTouch offers a variety of accessories and support kits for using the BioTac and integrating with various robotics platforms.

Engineering Services

SynTouch offers engineering services to support our customers. We consult on a variety of projects ranging from integration of our BioTac with custom robotic or prosthetic hands, to providing our expert knowledge of haptics for application to a variety of disciplines.
