Support Package
The Support Package contains tools to interface a BioTac with a PC. It includes a standard mechanical and electrical adapter suitable for mounting on a test fixture, electronics required to plug into a USB port, and an executable file for a Windows based computer that enables the BioTac to acquire data.
Service Package
The Service Package contains tools and materials to service the BioTac. These materials include fluid for inflating the BioTac, a syringe and needle with depth stop, and a set of calipers for ensuring proper inflation. Electrical grease is provided to protect the connectors, as are replacement screws for the nail of the BioTac, and screws and tools to retrofit the BarrettHand.
Skins
BioTac skins are made of a molded silicone elastomer that is durable and inexpensive. This part is user serviceable and is expected to wear during normal use. Tools to perform skin replacement are included in the Service Package.
Nail
BioTac Nails are user-serviceable, but not expected to wear during normal use. Tools to perform this service are included in the Service Package.
Test Core
A Test Core is provided to simulate the geometry of the BioTac. The test core should be used when new motions are planned, or in situations where the forces might exceed the suggested load on the BioTac. The test core does not contain any electronics or moving parts, but can be fitted with an actual BioTac skin and nail and inflated with BioTac fluid.
Mechanical Adapter
The mechanical adapter allows the BioTac to be mounted on the BarrettHand. This adapter is also suitable for mounting onto test fixtures.
Electrical Adapter
The electrical adapter enables the BioTac to be connected to the MultiBioTac Board.
Wiring Harness
The Wiring Harness connects the BioTac to the electrical adapter through a low profile Omnetics connector. The 12" length is suitable for the lateral fingers of the BarrettHand, or evaluation purposes. The 7.5" length is suitable for the middle finger of the BarrettHand. The 1.5" length is suitable for all five Shadow digits.
USB Info Card
The USB Info Card comes with documentation and applications. Software included allows for immediate acquisition of data. This application requires a computer capable of running Windows XP or better. Documentation includes the communication protocol, user manual, and material safety data sheets.
Multi-BioTac-Board 3
The Multi-BioTac3 Board allows users to collect data from between one and three BioTacs and interface with the provided SPI to USB converter.
Cheetah SPI Host Adapter
The Cheetah SPI Host Adapter enables the BioTacs to communicate to a computer directly via USB. This includes a powered transformer, and is produced and supported by Total Phase Inc. Drivers and C-Library documentation are accessible online at the Total Phase website.
5V Power Supply
This 5 Volt Power Supply connects to the MultiBioTac Board to ensure it has sufficient power.
