Objective: Explore the benefits of multimodal tactile sensing in a prosthetic hand applications. This project has two primary focuses: the assessment of reflexive grip adjustment algorithms making use of tactile information, and to explore the benefits of multimodal conscious feedback to a patient in the form of force, vibration and temperature.
Tactile Object Discrimination

Objective: Design and build a hand, arm, and processing system to identify objects using only tactile feedback similar to the skin on a human hand.
Assistive Robotics
Funded by NSF
Objective: Develop tactile adjustment algorithms that facilitate grip control and dexterity for personal assistive robotics.
